I bought this item to get Toast 11, which is a later version than what I had and is more compatible with my current computer. Overall the program is fine and it works. If you have a new or fast computer Toast 11 should work for you. I believe their crashing issues are caused by the older or slower computer/hardware they have. Some people said they were having crashing issues. It would have been quicker to find the original analog tape and upload it that way. The ripping took did not let me take the specific chapter I had to rip the entire disk for the 5 minute segment I needed. One thing I found annoying was trying to copy a specific chapter from a DVD I created. Sometimes it's hard to navigate the features which makes a person wonder if a simple is possible. It's how the program creates the DVD menus and submenus.

It is also annoying trying to skip chapters from a burned DVD. Creating DVD menus is disappointing because the options are limited. While this isn't the perfect program it works well enough for what needs to be done. It's also handy for converting file formats.
